Veldrane is the Rau'n of Trickery. Out of all the rau'n, it is highly likely that Veldrane's influence over the goings-on in Bran Vaal is the most overlooked. From wherever he happens to be roaming at a given time, he gives favor to a dishonest merchant and his rigged scales. Fortune to a rogue, armed with his poison-coated blades. Victory to a landed sailor and his loaded dice.
While the intentions of the people who unknowingly receive his blessings may range from the amusingly benign to the blatantly malicious, it is important to note that Veldrane himself is not bound by any norms and mores. He simply does what he pleases - much to the ire of his father; Gavanoth, who seeks to preserve by curbing unnecessary destruction. On a whim Veldrane might take the form of a mortal whose wife tickled his fancy for the moment - you know how the rest goes. Another time he might decide to subtly motion two nations to war, all for his own amusement. The consequences of his actions can range from ridiculous to disastrous, and it is in this regard that Veldrane is possibly both the most mundane and one of the most dangerous Rau'n exercising their will over Bran Vaal.
